Hotham Sound
The deepest water on the west coast, at 732 meters, is found here in Hotham Sound closer to the entrance to Jervis Inlet.
Both the Canadian and American Navy utilize this as a testing area for submarines and sonar.
The predominant feature of the sound is the 1400 foot drop of Friel Falls into the waters along the Harmony Islands. This is the largest freestanding waterfall between here and Alaska. Best viewing time is in the spring and early summer when water flows are highest.
Our tour includes a visit to Friel Falls, Harmony Islands, Baker Bay Tide Pool and a view of the Vancouver Island Mountain Range. A cruise past St Vincent’s Bay and Captain Island complete the tour.
